First game: The Thunderbirds runs came on an RBI double by SS Sammie Starr, an RBI single by 3B Fletcher Vynne, and an RBI single by 2B Sean Everest that tied the game in the top of the ninth. However, SS Bryan Champ laid down a squeeze bunt in the bottom of the ninth to bring in the winning run. Jason Barry got his second win against the Thunderbirds, Greg Chong got the loss. The starters were Eric Brown for the Birds, Joey Zubizaretta for the Coyotes. Josh Brink also saw four innings of action for the Birds, allowed only four hits.

LF Craig Leebosh was 3-3.

Box score and play-by-play

Second game: The Thunderbirds led 6-4 after four innings, but RF Perry Hamilton hit a three-run home run in the bottom of the fifth off Sean Carrick.

The Birds got a good outing from starter Jeff Hall, who held the Coyotes to two hits and two earned runs in four innings. 2B Sean Everest was 2-2 with a double, and DH Dave Dick was 2-3.
