First game: The Warriors got ten runs in the fifth inning, but the Thunderbirds still made a game of it by scoring nine runs in the seventh.
Mark Hardy got the start, and was sharp for the first four innings, holding the Warriors to one run (unearned) on one hit. The Warriors got to him in the fifth with an RBI single by DH Sean Halton, a run walked in, an RBI single by SS Brent Wyatt, a two-RBI single by C Brian Ward, and an RBI single by Ikaika Lester. Hardy was replaced by Greg Chong with two out, and the Warriors scored four more runs before Chong got out of the inning.
The Thunderbirds got back in the game in the seventh with an RBI double by LF Craig Leebosh, who came in to replace an injured Matt Chester. DH Ryan Pilgrim and SS Sammie Starr hit RBI singles, 3B Jordan Pandoff hit a two-RBI single, and Leebosh hit a grand-slam double. (That's four RBI in the same inning.) RF Fletcher Vynne hit an RBI double to complete the scoring.
The Birds left runners at second and third in the eight, and left 12 on base for the game.
Matt Stabelfeld got the win for the Warriors, and Hardy got the loss. Leebosh finished the game 2-4. Halton was 3-3 for the Warriors.

Second game: Another good effort by the Thunderbirds that came up short in the ninth inning. The Thunderbirds tied it at five in the bottom of the eighth inning with RBI by SS Sammie Starr and 3B Jordan Pandoff. The Birds had a chance to get more runs in the inning erased when Starr was tagged out at second base on a suspect call.
The Warriors got three runs in the top of the ninth off Andrew LaFleur, on an RBI double by 3B Kyle Greene, an RBI single by C Brian Ward, and an RBI double by DH Sean Halton. However, the Birds loaded the bases on Warrior reliever Tyler Knigge with no outs in the bottom of the ninth. They got a run when C Steve Bone drew a walk. (It was Bone's second RBI walk of the game.) 2B Alex White hit a not-very-deep fly ball to right field. 1B Scott Webster attempted to come home on it, but was nailed by a perfect throw by RF Justin Speer. That made it two outs, and LF Craig Leebosh grounded into a fielder's choice to end the game.
Starr had a big game; 5-5 with a double and two runs scored. Knigge got the win, and LaFleur got the loss.
