Second game: The Hustlin' Owls salvaged a win in the "does not count in the standings" game with a decent pitching performance by Ryan Henry, who went five innings, and allowed three runs on seven hits. The winning run came off Geoff Burke in the sixth inning; it was set up by an error by Burke, a walk, and an RBI single by 2B Ryan Mauricio.
Nic Lindsay played second base in this one, and made two very good defensive plays. He is still looking for his first hit as a Thunderbird, but he got two more RBI in this game, running his total for the season to three. Both of the RBI came on ground outs, and he also drew a walk.
SS Sean Everest was 3-4 with an RBI. Jeff Hall started, and gave up two runs on three hits in two innings. The Owls did the most damage to Sean Carrick, who was charged with two earned runs on two hits in only 1/3 of an inning. He was replaced by Greg Chong, who held the Owls hitless for 1 2/3 innings. Andrew LaFleur pitched the ninth, and got tagged for an insurance run.
