First game: Mark Hardy got his second straight complete seven-inning game. He allowed only four hits, struck out six. He held the Cavaliers' new hitting star, CF Roberto Reyes, hitless.
This game was close until the seventh inning, when the Thunderbirds erupted for six runs, led by a two-RBI double by CF Jon Syrnyk and a two-RBI single by DH Matt Chester. The winning run came in the sixth, on an RBI double by Chester. He was 4-4 with two doubles, and C Ryan Pilgrim was 3-5 with a home run. LF Nic Lendvoy was 3-4 with two doubles. One of Lendvoy's doubles was a ground-rule double that could have been a home run.
Starter Ben Rue got the loss for the Cavaliers. The Birds out-hit the Cavaliers 17-4.

Second game: The Thunderbirds got the winning runs in the fourth inning on a two-run home run by 1B Ryan Pilgrim (his second home run of the day). Kurtis Schumacher put in an excellent performance in relief, four hits and no runs in five innings of work. He should have gotten the win; the box score incorrectly gave it to starter Josh Brink. Concordia starter Zac Manor got the loss.
DH Fletcher Vynne was 2-3 with a grand slam double. 3B Sean Everest was 2-3. Andrew Lafleur got a save.
