Results from the sixth day of the NAIA national championship tournament in Lewiston, ID:
Embry-Riddle 5, Lewis-Clark State 0 (Lewis-Clark State eliminated)
Josh Smith and Patrick Ryan combined for the shutout, and Smith helped his cause with a three-run home run in the third inning. Smith pitched for 7 1/3 innings, allowed five hits, struck out eight. Ryan retired all five batters he faced.
The Eagles scored the winning run in the first inning on hits by Richie Cormier and Victor Roldan. Ramon Kemp, the courtesy runner for Cormier, scored on a ground ball hit by Kevin Haney.
Embry-Riddle's remaining run was batted in by Derrick Pyles in the ninth.
Brad Davis took the loss for the Warriors. He went eight innings, allowed eight hits, struck out six. Attendance: 3,520
