First game (nine innings): The Thunderbirds led 4-0 after two innings, and 7-0 after five. LF Nick Senior hit a two-RBI double in the fifth, and 2B Keaton Briscoe hit a solo home run in the sixth to complete UBC's scoring.
Starter Brandon Kaye cruised for the first five innings, allowing only two hits. He gave up three runs in the sixth, on a ground out and a two-RBI single by 2B Danny Brown. Danny Britton-Foster took over in the seventh and went the rest of the way, allowed one run on three hits.
Kaye got the win. Senior finished the game 2-3.
Second game (seven innings): The Thunderbirds never trailed, but this was close all the way. The Birds opened the scoring with an RBI single by 2B Keaton Briscoe, and got another run in the top of the fourth on an RBI single by DH Kevin Nickel. The Cavaliers answered with the first of two solo home runs by C Tommy Whalen in the bottom of the fourth. The Birds went up 3-1 on an RBI double by SS Matt Spillman in the top of the sixth, and Whalen hit his second home run in the bottom of the sixth. The Birds got the winning run in the top of the seventh; RF Sean Pisarski hit a triple with one out, then scored on a squeeze bunt by 3B Andrew Firth. The Cavaliers got a run on a double play ball thrown by Shawn Hetherington, and Hetherington got a strikout to complete the four-game sweep.
Miles Verweel pitched the first six innings, allowed four hits, struck out two, got the win. 1B Andrew Madsen went 2-4.
